Help Wanted: Denon DP-45f

Hello everyone,

I have a Denon DP-45f that is in good condition. Everything seems to be functional with the exception of the motor. The TT detects the LP, and pressing the auto button activates the movement and lowering of the tonearm, however, the spindle will not spin unless I manually hold down the 33rpm button. As soon as I let it go the motor stops spinning. Any thoughts or experience about/with this issue?

Thanks!

Sounds like a dirty switch. Had that happen on a DP-52F. A little contact cleaner and it was good. Repeatedly pressing the switch a few timeS might wipe the contacts enough to keep you going temporarily.
