Hi, i got two old Lafayette SK-215wx, 50 watts, 16 ohms, i am planning to use them with a Mcintosh MA230 tube amp.
I want to know if it`s a good match and i want to make some cabinets, all info will be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Looks like a worthy driver to try to me!
Give it a big ol' vented box or infinite baffle to breathe in. If you don't need it to do bass, an open baffle's probably not a bad idea, either.

From my trusty 1966 Lafayette catalog (sorry for the cut-off right-hand side; hard to scan those fat ol' catalogs).

How about an enormous TQWP? Given the (oddly convincing) bass that tiny little full range drivers can produce in such, I'd be curious what your driver might do. I assume that if, in fact, the bass went up in proportion to the size difference, we'd know about it since houses would have been knocked down in the 40s and 50s when they were more popular, but why not check them out?

I built cabinets for those drivers when I was in college in 1970 with a high freq horn. I built the boxes out of real mahogany. They had bass up the yin yang but in the mid range they were a bit on the honky side. I drove them with a Lafayette 20 watt integrated amp and I loved them, even with their flaws. I knew nothing about building boxes so I probably did everything all wrong, but it was still fun. Have fun with it.

It is a choice, amongst many others. The Karlsons have a somewhat colored sound which you may not like. There are a handful here, including myself, who have had good success using Karlsons.
