I have an old Grundig Majestic SO-142US console with a reel-to-reel and record player. Things are pretty much working everywhere but the reel-to-reel. The recording is flakey and seems to only work with one channel. If I switch the whole setup to mono, it works okay (but has some room for improvement). I demagnetized everything, and that made things sound a bit better. I purchased a pre-recorded tape, and it plays beautifully in stereo.
So, it seems to me that perhaps just one side of the electrics are working, unless anyone has a better idea.
There are two heads. I assume one is erase and one is play/record?
Does anyone have any info on this guy?
Unfortunately some of the labels came off. I think maybe these 3 buttons are input select? Only one button can be pressed at once.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
