I'd wait for just a little bit longer. A Technics SL-D2 or D3 can be had for very cheap and it'll never do you wrong. I think the only major difference between this series and SL-1X00 series is the lightweight base and the suspension and isolation in the feet instead of platter. They're still well built IMO.

what robotron said, but if u cant wait get the pioneer u can flip it once u find the one u want or like but id take the pioneer :music: :yes:
 
I like both of these tables. For a starter I'd go for either. I owned the Yamaha for years. The neat thing about audio is when you learn to like something better, these tables will sell for what you paid!

I agree. Take the Yammy. This guy is always selling something on DC CL.
 
Thanks for the reccomendations, you guys. I'm still not sure which to get- they both look nice. I suppose I'll just take a look at both of them and get the one that, uh, is in better condition.

PS I bought a Harman Kardon 430 from the same person, it is quite a nice piece of equipment!!
