Help with a fuse.

Need help with a fuse...please.

Hi all,

I just pulled a blown fuse out of a Kenwood KA-6100 Integrated. The fuse says "SOCV A 4A (The first A is in a circle). Exactly what the hell am I looking for. Is this just a 250 4A fuse? Thanks as always.

Regards,
Russ

Best I can find out, SOCV stands for "Stabilized Open Circuit Voltage". The 4A is obviously 4 Amps as you suggest. Some of the markings on fuses are particular to the equipment manufacturer. I'd say the only concern is whether the fuse is fast or slow blow. Fast blow usually has what looks like a straight wire inside. Slow blow usually has what appears to be a coiled wire. If it were me, I'd go with the 250V 4A fuse. The worst the should happen is that it will blow again.
