Help with a Kenwood KA 9100

Just recapped a 9100 that I got off eBay and it sounds great. Every single electrolytic cap is new. I also did a good cleaning of all the controls.

I then noticed that one of the meters was not playing as loud as the other. No big deal right just adjust it to match so just to make sure i flipped it to mono and tried to see if a channel was louder then the other and sure enough the right channel with the meter that was extending louder was louder on my headphones. I then made sure it wasn't in my head so I had a friend switch my headphones back and forth when I left the room, came back and could tell every time that the right channel was the louder one, did this about 10 times.

I should mention that using all of the switches did not change to issue in anyway.

i don't know. didn't listen long enough. I did put a source to the amp using the separate switch and the problem left. so that leads me to believe its with the pre amp. Ill post a schmatic tomorrow.
 
Cant seem to post the schematic. I listed to the amp for about an hour today and I am a bit lost here. The problem still remains and the sound although nothing wrong just doesn't sound that good. Not sure if its a normal sound and I just don't care for it or if there's something going wrong with it. My other amp is a Krell so there might be nothing wrong with the sound of the Kenwood.
 
Check the subsonic and high filter push buttons, those commonly cause issues on that era of Kenwoods.
 
I have and they sound fine now after cleaning, I have tried to find a guide on how to bypass them once I know how Ill do so to get ride of one possible cause. The issue has always been consistent though so that leads me to believe that its not a switch, I have also been checking solder joints and have found none that's suspect but ill continue to do so.
 
I did yes and no change. I have the amp apart now ill be doing a few checks on some resistors. Might shotgun approach this and hope that fixes it. I also have an oscilloscope coming although it will take me a bit to understand it.
