Help with chromecast and Sansui 9090

Hello,

I recently purchased a Sansui 9090 and will be streaming Spotify via Chromecast from my iPhone/Laptop.

My question has to do with phone volume vs. Sansui volume knob.
If my phone volume output is say, 50%, I can obviously turn up the Sansui volume knob to compensate.
If my phone volume output is 100%, I need to turn the Sansui volume knob lower to compensate for the higher phone output.

Is it best to have the phone output set to 100%, or should I dial it back and use a higher volume setting on my Sansui? Does it matter either way?

My apologies if this has been answered before, I had a tough time finding it, however, in the forums.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Not worth worrying about unless you can tell the difference consistently in blind testing. I would set the Sansui at a comfortable level on the FM or a record or CD, then adjust the phone to make the Chromecast be about the same level.

Awesome, thanks so much!

Experiment and see what works best. I typically set the volume on my iPhone or iPad around 50% and set the volume on my amp at a comfortable level based on how I'm listening (sitting down, background while doing other tasks, etc). This gives me some wiggle room on my device to adjust the volume up or down.

Thank you! Glad to know there's no hard and fast rule. I'll experiment, and sure appreciate your advice!
