Help with Dolby NR Switch on my Technics M-63

There is a 3 position toggle switch for Dolby NR on my Technics RS-M63. The location for this switch is probably not relevant but you can see that location, identified by the horribly drawn arrow, on the attached photograph of my deck. It is, as said, 3 position and each position has two labels. Well. almost. The down position has just one label that being an "out" label on the right hand side. There is no label on the left side. The middle toggle position has "In" for the label on both sides. Finally, the up position has "In" for the label on the left and ""Out" for the label on the right. See the attached photograph of the switch.

does anyone have any clue how this switch is to be used to turn Dolby NR on or off when playing or recording cassette tapes?

Dolby NR is on with button at middle and upper positions. Middle also engages MPX filter while upper disables it. This should be described in the user manual.

Here is how the switch works. The Owner's Manual does not say the type of Dolby encoding/decoding is used.

It is Dolby B, the other versions did not exist when this unit was sold.
