Help with Dynaudio Audience 72 vs Ohm decision

Hi Everyone,
Have an opportunity to purchase a pair of Dynaudio Audience 72. Going to audition them in 2 hours. Not sure if including a url is OK otherwise I would.
He is asking $700 for them, I currently have a set of Martin Logans Sequel IIs on my main system and Ohm Series F on the secondary system. Also have a pair of Ohm SCT and Ohm Walsh II.
Are the Dynaudio speakers an upgrade over the Ohms? If I do pick up the Dynaudios I will have to finally sell some of the pieces I have.
Will do some research to see what kind of value the Ohms may have.
Thank you so much for your thoughts!

Those are excellent speakers, but $700 seems a little high. I've built speakers using the exact same combination of drivers. They should be perfect at that price.

Thank you!
How do you think they match up against Ohm Walsh II, SCT or Series F also Ohm speakers?
I've purchased a B&K Reference 20 controller a year ago and no problems at all with it. He also works at the same place I do as a creative director. As a person I do trust him.

Hi Audiomagnate,
Well went for a listen and was really pleased with them. No marks at all on them. Would in fact say they were perfect and went for 6. Beautiful redwood finish.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Much more focused and accurate than the Walsh IIs, with MUCH beter bass and imaging. I used to sell the Fs and always thought they had a unique sound, but not my cup od tea. You got a great pair of speakers at a very fair price. Congratulations!

Cool! Looking forward to picking them up and plugging them in. I didn't have my truck with me but we work at teh same place so he will bring them in and we'll transfer them to my vehicle during lunch. Pretty excited about getting them home! He said he was setting up his listening area sith built in speakers and such. Nothing at all that he was disliking about them just that they would not fit the configuration, he was happy they were going to someone who plans on keeping them. Those, like a few other pieces I have, are not going to be sold!
Thanks again, This site is great for information and people that are willing to help.

Brought them home tonight! They sound great! Audiomagnate, thank you for the advice! I put them with the Nakamichi Stasis Pass PA-5. Will try them on the system with the Aragon 4004 MK II amp and 24k preamp with turntable over the weekend.

Hope you like them. I helped a friend put a system together with 72s and B&K electronics. I have 82s, 42s, and the 122c. They like a lot of juice but it sounds like you already have some flowing.

Enjoy your Danes!

Hello Hyfi and Audiomagnate,
Thanks so much for your thoughts!
I have a bit of a hum coming from the system with the Dynaudios. It was there before when I had the Ohm Series F installed. Not sure if the hum is caused by inferior cables from the Denon 3300 to the Nakamichi PA-5 amp or something else running in the room. I have a DVR box, a lamp, an alarm clock and the ceiling light/fan.
Even with everything off except the alarm clock I'll hear the hum.
Will try new cables this weekend.
Again thank you for the feedback and yes I really like these speakers even better in that environment than the Ohm Series F!
