Anybody recognize this 50s looking radio? I've done a Google image search, plus Ebay, and can't find it.
I walked into an office this morning and spotted this handsome G.E radio sitting on a shelf. Case looks like Bakelite. Medium wave plus 6.5 to 10 mhz shortwave. Looks like an AC/DC type circuit. The label on the bottom is tantalizingly half missing, so I can't find the model number. Since I was there on business, I couldn't ask the owner to let me open it up and look inside.
The dial cord works fine, but it hums like crazy on power up, which is usually fixable. Externally it's in very nice condition.
Long story short, I asked where they got it, and the response was "we found it in a closet." I'm going to make them an offer.
