Help with Goldring 1.2 (Rebadged Rega Planar 2)

I have a Rega Planar 2 and a Goldring 1.2. Recently I added a Rega glass platter to the Goldring as well as a Rega mat. I decided to check the tracking force and found that it was tracking at 1.6g.
I then found that the counterweight was as far forward as it can go. I have a Goldring Elektra cartridge, and the recommended tracking force is 2.0g. Yet I can not track higher than 1.6. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

It's a fairly light cartridge. I don't think you've done anything wrong. It should be fine at 1.6g. Ideally, you'd have a heavier cartridge.
