Help with JBL L46

Hello,

I just brought a pair of JBL L46 speakers in very good condition for $5.00 and
speakers sounds fine.

Now the bad part. The previous owner had used silicon glue to glue together the rotted surrounds on the woofers. Should I try to take the glue off and probably damage the woofers or leave it and listen to it this way ?

Kenny,

if you can, post some pictures so we can see if the cones can be saved. If it is just the surrounds that have the silicon on them then they just need a refoam job which is easy.

A dremel tool and a steady hand can grind off the silicone without damaging the cone too much.
