Help With JVC R-S33

My 1980 model has light display issues. I would like all the red lights and the green replaced. The Green perfect tuned in light does not work and the red FM Stereo light does not work. Would be nice to have the sliders cleaned too. The job is beyond my skill level.

I tried hitting the solder points on the FM Stereo card with solderer, did not work. Prior, I could tap on it and the two white prongs and it would come on. After, it would not come on any more and the green perfect tune station light stopped working.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Would just like to see the old gal shine again!

Today I opened my 40 year old JVC R-S33. The dial string was broken. Earlier mentioned problems was the green LED indicating perfect station setting and the red LED FM Stereo indicator. Since I had to disconnect the needle on the station scale, I went ahead and took out the whole scale chamber. That gave me access to the LED boards. Took out the two screws in each board and looked at the connections with a magnifying glass. There it was, bad solder connections to both the red and green LEDs. Fired up my new solder iron and tapped that solder down. Low and behold, the lights work again. Amazing, after 40 years with me!

Went to Academy looking for braided fishing line. Took a while but I finally purchased some that looked as thick as what came out and it ended up being 80 pound test line. It took three cuts of line to finally get the just right fit. So happy now, good for a number of years now. It is green braided fishing line.
