help with Mono setup

ok. I have a refurbished Thorens 124 with an ADC LMF2 tonearm running a Grado Sonata 1, sent through an Audiolab 8100A amp and NHT3 speakers. Sounds great so far, I am very pleased. ( But what do I know, i'm new at this; baby steps.). The next step is for Mono set up as I have beaucoup mono albums, microgroove and such, that I wish to hear in Mono. The ADC tonearm has an interchangeble headshell, so Im thinking why not put a mono cart on a new shell and just change them out. I have the option of an off-deck tonearm if that would be best. Advice or recomendations??? Its a minimal tonearm so I would be fine with a higher compliance cart, right? Will the Audiolab suffice for a while? There seems to be no switching to mono on the Audiolab.

If you have a genuine mono cart, or a stereo cart with a "strap" across the stereo pins to make it mono, you will not need a mono button on your amp.
Some people are happy with a mono/stereo switch that the interconnects connect to to create a mono signal from a stereo cart. The better quality ones will have resistors in them.

If that ADC has a removable headshell, you may want to consider a MONO cartridge. Maybe, a dedicated Grado MONO cartridge, if the Grado Sonata is working well on your present setup? :idea:
