Help with Realistic STA-46 Volume Pot

Good Morning all. New to the forum and have a question. My Mother In Law works at a local “Goodwill” type place. She just brought me an STA-46 that showed up today. I wasn’t expecting much; plugged it in and hooked it up to my speakers. My Goodness! I was blown away by this thing. When I would fiddle with the volume it was very scratchy. I’ve never tried to clean or service a receiver myself, but I figured DeOxIt would do the trick. I sprayed all the pots and turned all the dials. Well, all of a sudden, the volume is completely locked up. I can’t turn it AT ALL. I’m afraid to force anything. Could the DeOxIt have caused something to degrade/melt and gum everything up? I’m afraid to force anything and break it. I’m really hoping someone here can offer some advice because I would hate to have ruined this thing. It was a VERY pleasant surprise when those first notes came out of my speakers.

At worst you may have to replace the volume pot. It's a relatively easy job. And, no, I've never heard of Deoxit locking up anything.
