Help With Resistor Choice for Stereo/Mono Switch

There is a place for two resistors. Suggestions for resistor values (or how to calculate)?
This is for a MC phono-stage. Either HypnoToad's or Emerald from RJM

Additionally, I'd like to know your suggestions as to resistor type. Is one type preferred over another?

The circuit diagram does not show the location of the switch in the circuit. Is it after the output of the 2nd amp?
