Help with transistor replacement!

I would like to find a replacement for this transistor:

Came from Technics SA300
  • 2SC1398-Q
  • Collector Current-Max (IC): 2 A
  • Collector-emitter Voltage-Max: 50 V
  • Transition Frequency-Nom (fT): 120 MHz
  • DC Current Gain-Min (hFE): 80
  • Terminal Form: THROUGH-HOLE
  • Terminal Position: SINGLE
  • Configuration: SINGLE
  • Transistor Polarity: NPN

I know there are some people on here who are very good at finding replacements. I would appreciate the help!

Depends on what it's doing in the circuit. If it's a pass transistor for the power supply, an On-Semi MJE15032G will do nicely. If it's part of the amplifier (such as a driver transistor), I'd have to find something else. If the live collector tab is being used as a conductor (à la Sansui), then the search gets tougher, as all the higher-speed devices nowadays use an encapsulated collector tab.
 
Sorry for the delay guys, I'll have to check the schematic and get back to you. The part number on the schematic was Q751 if any of you have it on hand (or the time to grab it from hifiengine)

That's hard to see, but I'm guessing it's being used with a Zener as a regulator per the schematic labeling, so yes, it's a power transistor.
 
That's a 'PCB layout' not a schematic ;)

If it were clear enough we could draw the schematic from it, but..... it isn't.
