Non-audio related, but we have a health mat (heating pad) for our bed which seems to be having wonky temperature control. We can't turn it past about the "W" in the word LOW on the temp scale. The scale reads as follows OFF . . LOW 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 HI. This is printed around a knob attached to a 50K pot which checks good out of circuit.
The triac in question is this
Data sheet shows that the legs are A1, A2, G
Not sure if a diode check can be done on these like with BJTs, but here's the readings:
Red A1, Black A2 - 0L, ~20 Mohms
Red A1, Black G - 0.063V, 92.3ohms
Red A2, Black A1 - 0L, ~21Mohms
Red A2, Black G - 0L, 20Mohms
Red G, Black A1 - 0.063V, 92.3ohms
Red G, Black A2 - 0L, 18.5Mohms
If it can be tested like a Q I'd say it could be toast as the A1, G readings forward and reversed are the same. But I'm not sure how to test them. No schematic I could find of the controller circuit board.
Anyone???
