It's officially time to dial in the cabs.
In terms of the difference between the two amps, well as you would imagine just from the power ratings the Jolida has a much better grip through the mid-low bass, and good tone, but much more self noise. Whereas the Cary is dead quiet and when the speakers are positioned right, holographic and with a better understanding of which note is being played, particularly in the bass.

Did not like the Blue Circle. It was very in your face at least when in the room above. I’ve since moved and have a couple feet more to the back wall. I’d still consider it near field and the speakers are still against the long wall.

Latest iteration. Replaced the cheesy ikea coffee table with some recuperated granite countertop and now I don’t have the turntable leads going through a doorway!

Nice! The Custom cabs with the Jensen's look great! Attached is a photo of my Custom Mahogany cabs with Jensen H222 under the hood. Added the Fostex super tweeters which are a great compliment and really air things out at the top nicely. They are about 5.5cf and a 16 x 3 port. I did replace the cap in the drivers.

How high do you cross the Fostexes?
These boxes are closer to 5cu.ft even, and run pseudo aperiodic. The back is open but there's heavy stuffing around the drivers.

Thanks for the comparison of your various amps. It sounds like the Cary is the one to keep with the right speakers. Can you share your thoughts on Naim?

Naim? Not really relevant but I did know somebody with Naim stuff. It’s fine?? He went pretty deep in their separates and the Naim upgrade path started to get to him and he sold it all off.
