7AC726F9-1FD9-4A6F-B7D2-775F5661CE12.jpeg One of my favorite stops when I venture the 60 miles to Chico, CA is the Taproom bar and restaurant. Located at the Sierra Nevada brewery, it’s been serving great food and, of course, great beers and ales since around 1981. During the long closure due to Covid, they did quite a bit of remodeling to the restaurant and bar. However, the one constant that has been there since they opened is the pair of Klipsch Heresy’s that are mounted above the bar. Kudos to Sierra Nevada for carrying on the tradition of great sounds with their great beer!

I just had my first Sierra Nevada “Nectarine Ale” this weekend, very tasty. I saw them in a beer distributor a while back and grabbed a 12 pack. I have never seen them again. Been a fan of SN and Klipsch for ages.
 
In contrast; I was in Park City yesterday and remembered to take a pic of the Heresy's hanging from the ceiling at Davanza's , Chill bar & eatery serving up burgers, cheesesteaks & tacos in addition to pizza pies.
(I didn't take a pic of the one at the other end) They drilled holes in the sides to hang them from ropes! Even left the slanted risers on :)

Nice! Have not been there since I went to school at Chico State and was drinking Sierra Nevada in their (old, small) brewery back in 1984.
 
I go to Chico often and, except during the Covid crap, always stopped at The Taproom. They used to have a brown ale they only served at the restaurant on tap. It was excellent but haven’t seen it for quite awhile. I remember they did a limited release of it in bottles years ago and I may have invested in a case or two. They had a very nice summer lager on tap this trip. They had an awesome Kolsch on tap a few years ago which was one of their best efforts IMHO. Haven’t seen it since. I know the craze now is IPA’s and wheat beer of which I’m not a fan of either. If you are ever in Chico, CA, it’s worth a stop.

Lmao. I told my wife I wouldn’t sit under them. Clearly it was a design statement: A true audiophile would have put the tweeters at ear level for silks standing (so the speakers would have been upside down).
 
I grew up in Chico and more specifically I grew up in the John Deere tracror shop where my father worked that was (and still is) located right next to the original Sierra Nevada Brewery. It was a small nondescript commercial building that I think had a prtial dirt floor. If you showed up at noon the Brewmister would give you a tour of the works and a beer. That was the late 70s and early 80s and I do't think they had any Klipschs hanging on the wall. Now I live 90-miles south in the state capitol but my how Sierra Nevada has grown!

Hey Jeff,
Great to hear from a native Chicofornian! Also the home town of Green Bay Packers Quaterback Aaron Rodgers. My youngest son actually played against him in High School.
One unique fact about Sierra Nevada is they never sold out to the big companies like so many other craft breweries have. Kudos to them for keeping it local.:thumbsup:
