Heresy 1.5?

I have a pair of Heresy I's that my brother purchased new in the mid-'80s. From what I have read thus far, these should have the K-55 mid-range drivers and K-700 metal horns. I was surprised to find K-53s and plastic K-701 horns. Everything else is as I expected. K-77, K-22-K, E2 crossover, etc. This has never needed service so they came that way from the factory. Is this unusual? Did this get in there as they transitioned to the Heresey II? They are serial numbers 8444220 & 8444221.

Klipsch started swithing to a new mid-range (K53) and horn K701 in the early '80s before the Heresey II. The E-2 crossover was designed for this new mid as it was slightly different than the K55. The K53s stayed with the Heresey II, while the woofer was changed to the K24.

I have stock 1989 Heresy II that have Never been opened. Which woofer, mid driver etc is the best one's for the small Heresy box?? I have a spare set of metal K-700 and K-55-V and a pair of K-77-M tweeters that are back up's for my 1979 Cornwall's.
My 1989 Heresy II horns are NOT metal?? S/N 8911100 and 8911101

no...you should have plastic horns and a different tweeter and of course woofer than your Cornies...I believe the titanium tweeter mod would be available for your HIIs but not Crites tweeter which is meant to replace the tweeter in the K'Horn, Belle, LaScala, Heresy...(K-77)
