It's that 49 dollar POS Gemini EQ that really brings the system altogether.

This is at least the second or third time around for that stuff, and i doubt we'll see it go away anytime soon.

Wow only 130 grand. That will get you two 3 bedroom houses in these parts.

Somehow I don't think he's the original owner the quality of the older gear is top notch all the "new" stuff is DJ grade at best.

Anyone know what that stuff is actually worth? 3-4 K maybe?

It's hard to pass up anything endorsed by Bambi.

i was thinking the same thing. that must be there to help you picture using this system in a mountain cabin.

it's particularly instructive to read the comments and replies he's posted near the bottom. i'm pretty sure that he's just hoping to get a high enough offer. he makes some good points about valuation of vintage gear and what a tricky concept it is, but if deep down he really thinks he has a prayer to get even as much as a tenth of the asking price, he's quite misguided. first of all, a serious SAE collector will already have this gear, since it's not particularly rare - i've seen almost all of it come up on eBay or CL in the last six months at very reasonable prices. plus the SAE TWO gear at the top is lower-end than the rest. and the nail in the coffin: he shreds any sort of credibility he might have had with the (apparently) mediocre DJ gear.

btw, this has been posted on in D&S before, when it first appeared on eBay. that was at least 6 months ago, i think.

I was just going to post the same thing -- at the time, I believe we thought it was a typo. Apparently not, I guess.

I was thinking "Dogs Playing Poker" or "Velvet Elvis". I wonder if VISA will up me, Alot?

I would only pay that money if he was my brother, had cancer, and needed the money for chemo.

Possible reason behing this auction....

I can imagine a dinner table conversation something along these lines:
" :nono: Dear I want to you to get rid of that big ugly stereo I have hated for so many years.I think we need a sewing room downstairs for my Sunday quilt making club.Do you have any idea what it is worth?"
"Well," says the husband scratching his chin :scratch2: "let me have a look on ebay and we can talk about it tomorrow."

After a quick evening searching searching ebay our audiophile friend realizes that in order for him to get to the same level as his current system is going to take years of work and tremendous expense.:dammit:
"Well," he says to himself "maybe I have a solution"

Sure enough next night at the dinner table:
" Well dear we seem to be in luck! That ugly loud old stereo of mine seems to be worth over 150 THOUSAND dollars! I told you letting me go through the expense and trouble of putting it together over 30 years was worth it!"
 "Oh my God" thinks the wife "We could do so much with that money, nice vacations new cars!"
The wife says:"Lets try to sell it quickly so I say you should list it on ebay for 129 thousand."
"As you like it darling, let me get going on that!"

At this very moment the husband is sitting in his basement with the volume on his rig at about 10' o'clock doing the following:
