Hey Zilch

Snade

humble AK member
Which would sound better ??

1. Indignia speakers

or

2. Econo-wave my JBL Decade L26

Fairly large family room and listen mostly to jazz and early 70's rock. Electronics would be Marantz 2330b (120 watts per) and Thorens TT.

I can't do both. Pick one, please.

Cheers, Snade

HEY, Snade! :thmbsp:

Do EconoWave. Indignias are more "personal" in scale; they're not "Rock the house" speakers.

You don't have to cut into your L26s to try out E'Wave; just bring the woofer leads out the port, set them upside down, and put it on top. If you find you like the result, then decide if they might not warrant using another, perhaps different, woofer and cabinet instead, rather than sacrificing your L26s.

There's plenty of $10 thrift store fare well suited for conversion into killer E'Wave speaks....

OK.

That's it.

Thank you, my friend.

That kind of depends on your house. ;)

FWIW, I agree with Z. If you can only have one then that's probably the way to go. If you need some speakers for a bedroom set in the future then Indignias would be hard to beat.

COOL!

We'll watch for your project in the main thread.

If any questions come up, just ask over there.... :thmbsp:

You will absolutely love this project. Do yourself a favor if you havent already, and read the entire thread. Most of the questions I see people ask have been answered, but the thread is getting so large its difficult to sift through. I've been at it since the beginning and still have trouble relocating certain parts. Its a hell of a read and very instructive on modifying boxes, crossover/compensation tricks, rta usage, picking drivers, all sorts of stuff, as is the Indignia
thread as well. Great stuff here.:thmbsp: Picture along the way please, and welcome to the project.
