Heybrook HB-1 speakers

Indeed, I own the Diamond 8.1's which came out in 2001 and they are his design, I think he was there for the 7.1 and the 7 series, so he may have been there since the late 90's....I also remember Heybrook resurfacing with speakers with Kevlar around in 2002, because the diamond 8.1 was the first budget speaker to have Kevlar drivers..and those Heybrook did as well and then of course B&W followed with the Kevlar 600 series shortly after that...

Hi all... I’ve got a set of HB1’s with the original vifa woofers that need refoaming. Can someone help with the type of dust cap on these, it looks to be mesh but I can’t be sure. Thinking it might be important given they are a sealed cabinet.

I took them to a repair shop, but that’s another whole drama after they tried to pass off a cheap pair of replacement woofers as ‘vifa equivalent’ with a price tag to match. I googled the part code on the back of the replacements to identify them... and was fortunate to get my money and the vifa woofers back.

I think the dust cap is a fabric mesh on the Vifa M21WG-09, which may mean it can breathe a little. I've refoamed some without removing the dust caps.
