Heybrook HB3

Just picked up a pair of Heybrook HB3 speakers, they were brand new still in the original boxes unopened they sound fantastic, but I can not get any info on these speakers. I know the company is no more so calling them is out, anyone here know anything about this company?

Peter Comeau was the designer (and owner I believe) of the HB 3, Heybrook's flagship loudspeaker. Last time I heard from him, he was in China working for Quad. You'll have to google other sites (like Pink Fish media, HIfi wigwam) for more info on these.
 
Heybrook Hi-Fi was the manufacturing element of Mecom Acoustics, formed in the UK in the early 1980s by Peter Comeau and Stuart Mee. They produced a range of highly regarded loudspeakers as well as the TT-2 turntable and TPS turntable power supply, plus a range or two of amplifiers towards the end of their existence. The HB1, 2 and 3 were the mainstay of their early ranges and the HB3s are very fine loudspeakers indeed.

Peter Comeau is still very much alive in the industry and is head of acoustic design for IAG, so responsible for all the current Mission, Wharfedale and Castle loudspeakers. As an aside, I got to know Peter when I worked for Hi-Fi World magazine as we ran regular features the design of his kit loudspeakers for World Designs. he's a very nice chap and an an incredibly talented loudspeaker designer.
 
The woofer looks something like you would find in KEF really interesting looking center cone design, more pointed in shape than dome, does this account for there not being a separate mid.
