HH Scott 350 Variant

This is pretty neat, you don't see them with this faceplate very often. AFAIK, this option was intended for broadcast monitor use at FM radio stations -

believe it or not that is a dealer installed marantz faceplate and very rare.

No kidding, to match the 7C prior to the 10B?

Somewhere I have a Scott "lab" price list. It has their rackmount audio oscillator, FM alignment generator, and a very similar looking 350. I figured that's what this was but now think that one had rackmount slot openings not holes along the side.

The rare faceplate alone would be worth more than the $300 it sold for. It looks like it could certainly be a very good candidate for restoration though. Marantz apparently did this with at least one Fisher tuner model as well prior to offering the now legendary 10/10b.

There is an interesting difference, Marantz screened the Scott logo on the one for the 350. For the Fisher, only the model number as the Fisher is branded on the vernier glass. Marantz must have had approval to put the Scott logo on, pretty neat.

I'm not so sure that had to do with Marantz having approval from one an not the other (reportedly Saul and Avery were friends), but rather I assumed that they screened in the H.H. Scott name because that's the same location where the name is on the factory faceplate. The Fisher has the brand name on the dial glass, and only the model number on the faceplate. But I could be wrong; all this happened many years ago.

Very nice. There are pictures of one on Wiki under the HH Scott article and calls it out as a dealer installed Marantz faceplate.
