HH Scott Case Fitment Question

Hello, all, the question...will a wood case off an HH Scott 345 fit my HH Scott 340a?

One source says the 345 cabinet will also work for the 296, 340, 340b and 380...while another is telling me the 345 cabinet has inside dimensions of 17 5/6 inches wide and 5 1/4 inches high.

My original metal case from my 340a has an outside measurement of 16 X 6.

Sounds like it might 'work' but would be just a bit off.

Any counsel/assistance appreciated.

I just got a case for my 340A off Ebay. Fits like a glove. Not sure what the original case was purchased for....

The faceplate covers most of the front of the case on mine. It's possible that yours might have inside dimensions physically bigger than the faceplate so the case will totally frame its periphery. I'll take some measurements later when I have the unit apart. My guess is that it will fit.

The inside dimension of the 345 case is 17 and 5/6. So, yes, the faceplate would be framed by that larger outer border on the left and the right. But the inside dimension of the 345 case is 5 and 1/4 - so the 340a's upper and lower faceplate edges would project above it, not be framed by that outer border.

So the question remains, anyone know if the 345 case works for the 340a, and, if so, how it looks? I'll wait and get a correct tall 'G' case if the 345 case is not vibing right.

I measured the indide dimension of my wood case as 16 3/8 x 5 1/4....16 in deep
