I can't find the #@*% brochure!!

But I did some research. First off, my Scott is a 387, not 389. Stereo Review covered it in 1971. I believe the 25xx models are a little later. [edit: WRONG!!]

I couldn't find a pic of the 387 put got this of the service manual off ebay:

Edit: I found a reference to the 2502 & 2503 being reviewed by High Fidelity in 1968.

I remember a Scott tuner (it must have been in 1977 or so) with a punch card reader in it... It must have been for programming frequencies or so.
It also had a nixie tube display if I recall well. I can find nothing about it on the net. Does someone know the type? Any pic? It isn't even mentioned on http://www.fmtunerinfo.com

Definely use the higher rated voltage electrolytics. Can't hurt anything and is safer than lower rated ones.

All others out there:

I have a Scott R 376 also, and very much enjoy the sound quality of it. The unit is stock.

I am considering upgrading it with new caps in the power supply and replacing the caps in the signal path with metallized polypro. Does anyone have a service manual for the R 376 they would be willing to provide copy of? I would pay reasonable cost for copying and mailing.
 
I don't remembe the model # but remember the tuner. They appear on eBay and seem to do so in spurts. Pretty unless the cards come with the tuner other than as a manual mode tuner. Think the cards were the mini-IBM/Holorith card. Back then there was some interesting engineering going on even if the sonic results were somewhat disappointing.
