Good looking, very well built, sooooo undervalued! If it had toobz, it would command $$$. Can't imagine why these are so under the radar. Ah, well, no room here for a(nother) receiver.

At that price and generation as well as the physical conditions and work case the heck with not enough room even if it means dropping it on the bottom of a closet. It looks to be very good with goof lettering and cab is not toast. At that price it is more than a good buy. Even all the knob caps are there. Looks like needs bulbs bit, if the seller is truthful so what.

Here in the Cleveland I see nothing but black faced plastic junk. When something decent comes along it is terribly over priced. Like a Mac 4100 rcvr for $2000.

Interesting. If this is the original 348, not the later 348B, it's a hybrid, much like the McIntosh MAC-1700, with a toob tuna section. Explains the metal mesh on top, in spite of big heatsinks on back. No AM; FM-only, like the Mac. Scott's TOTL receiver at the time.

I think it is the original. One difference between the 2 from my aging memory was the 348 has the tape head input while the 340b does away with it. Either 1 is well worth in my eyes far more than the asking price. These early Scott SS units are not seen often for some reason on the market in really nice condition like this one seems to be.

I have sent an email to find out which and without committing if he would ship to Canada. Yeah I may put my money where my mouth is.

I picked up a 348B in similar condition with a pair of KLH 32s recently for $75. I am happy with the purchase. Nice looking little receiver.

How response was it is a 348 and he does not ship to Canada. So, I won't get it.

No tears though as it looks like I just committed to another KLH Twenty-Seven receiver, yeah! I love the looks of these little buggers.

Hardly ever see anything that nice for that small amount of money around here in central New England. Prices have gone cuckoo.

I would love this unit! Is there any AKer in the Sacramento area who'd be willing to pack it up and ship it for me?

PM me if you're willing to do such an enormous favor!:thmbsp:

There "new" Twenty-Seven arrived and am really happy. Typical pitting on the faceplate and broken am antenna, an easy fix. It is being used as my dedicated headphone unit with my Koss ESP9 e'stat phones for the next little while.
