hi-fi woofers as guitar speakers?

Anyone has a list of well known hi-fi woofers such as JBL d120 or Goodmans axioms that were or can be used in a guitar amp cab?

Or even ones that weren't usually used in guitar amp cabs but maybe you had success with?

I'm building some guitar amps and looking for some different tones. Thanks in advance.

The old alnico 12" woofers used in the Wharfedale W*0 models (the regular one WITHOUT the polystyrene "bung" over the front of the cone) have a sound that is like a hi-fi version of a Vox AC-30. I have wondered how they would work in a guitar cab because they reproduce guitars like nobody's business. Very-EL84-sounding. In my W90's, they are running full-range. They have the King Midas touch with things like mic' distortion, natural tube distortion, overdriven speakers, feedback, etc.

You may already know this.

Leo Fender developed one of the first guitar amplifiers and chose Jensen® speakers for their excellent tone. Throughout the 1940s, 1950s and most of the 1960s,

While not used in too many such applications, the EV 12M and 12L work well as audio woofers.

Almost forgot. If you ever happen to find a pair, Wharfedale actually made a couple drivers DESIGNED for use with guitar and musical instrument amps. This was back in the early to mid '60's. I'm looking for one myself. They made a 12", which I think was called the AG12, plus they had a 15" one that I suppose was for bass amps (AG-15, maybe?). If I can verify the model number, I'll come back and edit.

Whereas I've never seen hi fi woofers used for guitar amplification, I did watch a band use 2 EPI 100's as PA speakers. Shockingly, they worked great.

Some of the early Vox AC15's, from what I've read, had Goodmans speakers in them. I don'f know the model # of the driver though.
