We honeymooned in Portugal almost 30 years ago. Alentejo was really beautiful but very hot. Loved everything about Portugal, especially the nature, food, wine and people. Back then the EU didn’t really have as mu say of the country and the Euro currency didn’t exist. Made a very lovely trip quite affordable as well as quite unique from other places.

To this day I still miss catapalana in Sintra.
