Hi everyone!

I am located in Hong Kong (originally from Michigan) and joining this forum because I am now in the market for a new amp (will post more details later in another thread).

Ever since listening to 12" LPs with my dad growing up I have been a huge fan of audio, and especially vinyl. I have a collection of around 600 LPs spanning a range of genres but a focus on Jazz and Latin music, and some classic and modern rock. Some of my favorites are Miles Davis, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Santana, Hendrix... too many to list...

My current system is setup for playing vinyl. I also have it connected to a Chromecast Audio for playing newer stuff that I don't have on vinyl and for when I am lazy and don't feel like playing vinyl.

Amps:
- Hagerman Picollo2
- Hagerman Cornet3
- Onkyo TX-910 this is what I need to replace

Turntable & Cartridge:
- Technics SL1200-MK2
- Denon DL-301MK2 Moving Coil Phono Cartridge

Speakers:
- JBL L830

Lately I have been thinking about buying a second turntable and a mixer so I can get into mixing my records and eventually DJing bars or parties, but have not got around to it.

Please let me know your thoughts on my set up; any suggestions are welcome. I'm also very interested to know if anyone else is in Hong Kong, where are some good shops for vinyl and for audio components??

Hello and Welcome from Germany to Hong Kong!

you are now living in audio heaven. more CD/SACD/Bluray stores in HK than
all the top 10 cities in the US combined. more SACDs developed, marketed and sold here.
entire buildings filled with HIGH-END gear (like million dollar Goldmund systems),

Audiospace has a show room, shown in HK's Infernal Affairs trilogy (all time NUMBER 1)
on Appliu St. tube heaven - 300B, EL34s, etc.

and when you're jaded with all this, then across Lo Wu (900K+ international border crossing
peak day), is Shenzhen - home to a LOT of hi-fi gear. everything there is about 1/2 of what
it costs here.

do get a 10 year multiple entry visa NOW, americans are the ONLY passport holders
that cannot get a visa at the border.

enjoy the music and the food is world-class.

Well, you're a few decades late with that one. Even Cantonese is losing out to Mandarin in recent years.

Thanks! I will check these out. And I already have the visa so will need to get across to Shenzen also.
