Hello all, I've been a lurker for years fixing up my Pioneer SX-780 and PL-115D turntable (I know now why they were free...). The wealth of knowledge here is amazing and I am thankful for all the people that take their time to contribute.

Well I live in St. Paul, I'm a mechanical engineer, I've tried to stay away from the black smoke and leave that up to the EE's but every now and then I need to dabble. I'm more into muscle cars than audio stuff but I really do like my stereo. I received my SX-780 from family friends, it did not work and it ended up being the usual bad power packs. I didn't pick this unit out specifically but it really does fit my taste, I'm a fan of the brushed aluminum and wood case, to me it just looks classic.

Know of any good body men? The goat needs a paint job and some body work.

I actually do all my own, I have four car to paint so I figured I might as well learn. I've done body work on two cars and have completely painted one. It turned out really well, doing final interior assembly right now. I learned a lot from the first go around, I think the second one will take me half the time to do. I understand why it costs so much.

Wow I would love to check your cars out. If you ever need any help let me know. I do know how to do a lot of things. I never did try to learn how to do the painting and prep work.
