High level and LFE connection

Good evening, hoping to get some clarity on Subwoofer connection methods. I am a big fan of high level inputs, as I prefer two channel stereo listening for music. My Dilemma is when I want to watch a movie I don't know if using High level will allow the LFE content from the processor to come through. Question is Can I use both Low level, rca connection from receiver and High level from mains to my subs. Best of both perhaps?
Equipment is as follows.
Harmon Kardon AVR254
Adcom gfa6000
Psb subsonic 10" Subwoofer
Psb Image 2b for mains
Velodyne LD3 bv for center

If you want the LFE material to come through those main speakers turn off the subwoofer in the receiver. It should be blended into the mains.
