Hitachi D-580 Cassette Deck?

Bought a Hitachi D-580 Cassette Deck at a garage sale today. Owner said it works.

Everything seems to be functioning electrically except the capstans don't move in "PLAY" "FF" or "REV" Looks like the belt(s) are broken.

Anyone know where I can find a belt(s) for this deck? How many belts are there? Is it worth the effort. Otherwise this deck looks like a well built solid unit.

The only place I've found is Marrs Coummunications Inc. (marrscommunications.com) has a set of belts for $26.25 - all it shows is a picture of what looks like 4 flat rubber belts of different sizes and 1 orange belt with teeth on the ID. It shows a variety of Hitachi Deck numbers that they are for including a D-980 which is a direct drive, so I'm suspicious of this vendor. I'm not sure if this deck is worth $26 to "maybe" get it running.

I've bought belts from Fred on at least three different occasions and each time it was exactly what I needed. He's a trusted source. The only issue is he got back logged awhile back but other than that, he's solid.

Thanks much. But I have to confess not being familiar with the posters on this forum, who is Fred and how to contact him? Thanks for your help.

Sorry....you mentioned Marrs and I thought you knew it was Fred Marrs.

And Marrs Communications is totally solid, and reliable. He sources his belts from the original vendors who made them for tape deck manufacturers, thusly they function to the same standard as factory genuine originals.
