Hitachi HS-90F - Anyone seen these in North America?

Hi there!

Recently acquired a pair of Hitachi HS-90F.
I know these are pretty rare even by a worldwide standard... but it seems like they never really been sold in the US or Canada. Never seen a pair for sale or even a picture of these with an Hitachi badge on the front. They all got the Lo-D badging and are located in japan, asia and some in europe.

Anyone here seen these in NA??

The HITACHI Lo-D HS-90F are among the most impressive and Superb speakers ever made.
I own two pairs and may bring one set to the US soon. I will also bring many other JDM (Japan Domestic Market) DIATONE, TRIO/KENWOOD, SONY, ONKYO, VICTOR, TAD, EXCLUSIVE units, and other TOTL YAMAHAs in the coming months. Congratulations on your choice !

Those look very familiar.

I think we sold those, or the successors to those, where I worked in the mid 1980s. We also sold the Hitachi electronics, such as the HCA8500 preamps and HMA8500 amps and such.

I remember really liking the electronics, but not so much the voicing of the speakers. They had a very "lean" sound, with not much bass. Compared to the other good speakers we had (JBL 120Ti, B&W 802 Series 80, and such), they just were a bit "thin sounding" to me.
