I know the Swan line looks very nice. A pair of my speakers use a set of HiVi ribbon tweeters that sound very nice. So I would say their drivers should be nice. I've read alot of good stuff about their drivers.

Hey Thunderbird,

Hivi SWANS is an OEM driver maker from China who has also jumped into the direct sales game with their own models. From what I know, they're very well regarded but the brand is relatively unknown in the US. The drivers are much better than your run of the mill OEM stuff but is most likely not in the same grade as your VIFA, SEAS, Focal range.

Their M200 desktop speakers were for year the best 2 channel PC setup you could buy for $200 and were basically extremely well built nearfield monitors...

Nice people there, I had a chance to work with them a bit to promote their products on Newegg.com when I worked there but they never picked up steam.

I have a pair of the Swans M-200 desktop powered speakers that I purchased used and they sound quite good. My only complaints are 1.) That the potentiometers used for the volume, bass, and treble controls feel a bit cheap and scratchy and 2.) The bass adjustment circuit has a hinge frequency way up in the midrange. The overall build quality (apart from the control pots) is very good and they do sound fine. If I were you I'd do a listening test before considering a purchase, but I would expect them to sound pretty darn good.

I have not seen or heard of the HiVi Swan speakers- but have used their drivers in numerous speakers builds and upgrades. They do make some very good drivers that can easily match and beat some of the Vifas, Seas and some Focals! The Chinese are very good at near copying the Dynaudio type driver with some of their own type of woofers and their other mids, tweeters etc are not bad either. They have cast frame drivers with large voice coils and good specs- not to mention the price points are very good as well.
If they can also master the better art of proper design and box building then the Swan may well indeed be a great speaker!

I have a pair of Diva 2.1's that sound darn nice. They wont rock the house but sound excellent for vocals and jazz. And the cabinets are as nice as most DIY speaks.

I first encountered them on AliExpress, which sells them factory direct for practically nothing. I assume there is a shipping fee and a few weeks' delay in getting them here from China. They sell two towers, one with 8-inch woofers and one with 6.5-inch woofers. The larger tower also has two midranges vs. one in the smaller. I assume they probably sound the same except for greater bass extension in the larger one. A subwoofer would probably make up the difference.
