So in a not so local thrift shop some time ago I picked up a set of cherry HK-20's for $20. Tested them in the store and they worked great.
Got them home and discovered an intermittent connection issue where the tinsel wire connects to the voice coil. I tried my best to fix it but no dice, and in my attempts I damaged the driver beyond repair. :tears:
My question is this, on ebay there's a gentlemen selling a kit with the original woofer and tweeter as well as the crossover for $30 with $20 shipping.
Do you think I should cut my losses and part them out? Order the original driver and enjoy them? or replace the originals with something else?
I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. And I'm not sure if hk-20's are really worthy of that kind of coin or if the cabs and tweeters are worth a woofer upgrade. I was hoping to power them with my 330b and have a dedicated little Harman Kardon setup..
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
