HK 730 stereo tuning meter

Looking for a bit of friendly advice. I’m finishing a restoration and the stereo tuning meter (not the light) is working in am and not in fm. Would this be an issue within the mode/control circuit side A or in the function switch for am/fm, aux and phono? Head scratcher..

Check what voltage you're getting at the meter in AM and then switch to FM and see what you read. Does the SM list any specific voltage you should see? There should be a difference between interstation noise (no signal) and a good stereo signal. Can you listen to FM, and if so, does the signal appear to be in stereo?
 
Jhue02, thanks the reply. Unfortunately the SM doesn’t include voltages. In AM the meter moves depending the strength of the signal…in FM the meter is just turned off. The stereo light is on and I’m listening to FM. I’m currently checking all transistor leg voltages per the schematic to get a sense of things. The board that feeds the signal strength meter is buried.. it’ll have to come out again.
 
Found it. Diode 351 on the fm board was bad. Transistor values were all over the place and not remotely close to standard. Amazed I was getting fm at all. Cheers
