I have this HK AVR and it's problem was that zone 2 only worked, and after some time while I was
fiddling with it (trying to get sound in zone 2) it shut down (standby) and wont turn back on.
If I press the power button it turns on for 1 sec then right back off.
I did notice small heat smell from it, I've opened it and can't see anything obvious, all caps look good and
no real heat/burn spots on the SMPS PCB.
I checked all the electrolytic caps with MESR-100 and all seemed good.
Any one know what might be wrong?
Also I found a transistor witch reads
7812A
JRC
MC028A
My DCA55 says its LED or diode, but google search says it's a voltage regulator, is my DCA55 wrong, or
is the transistor broken?
Link to the service manual.
