HK Citation II picture redux

Possibly you have seen my amp previously in pics I have posted. This particular amp was Don Sachs (McShane's tech) personal unit and has all possible upgrades and more.
I have tried to photograph it before but I don't have much background with this discipline. My soon to be son in-law is in fact a trained/schooled photographer and has many skills in this field. I asked him to stage and photograph the unit. This is what he came up with.

I have told him we need to redux again, next time I will dust unit first.

How did he get the tubes to glow so bright? Is this a composite of photos taken with the lights on, and with the lights off? Looks very cool.
 
yes Max, composite post production. He is quite good at this stuff and like so many things I am lucky to have him in my circle.
