HK Citation tube function

Hi,
The 12AX7s (V1, 2, 6, 7) comprise the Phono preamp, two tubes per channel.
The next two 12AT7s (V3, 8) are the first stages of the Line preamp, feeding the tone controls. Then V4&9 are the tone control recovery stages.
The oddball is V5, half of which is used for the Center Channel and the other half for the out-of-phase position. You do hear a little extra gain when this is switched in.
Because of the DC filament scheme, I believe (but am not positive) that all tubes must be installed and filaments glowing, for the amp to work.
