Normally I'd check for things like that. But since there were two different pairs of pictures I didn't.
Big scratch in the right speaker as well in both listings.
The $75 dollar listing is gone, $100 listing still up.
Could be operator error. Only meant for one listing.
Not pristine but worth the BIN for someone close by.
 
OK, folks, I'm the one who got these, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them or even how long I'm going to hold on to them (I don't have the need or room for more speakers). I'd never owned any RS series Infinities before and I guess I wanted to see how they'd compare with the newer models I own.

At any rate, all the drivers work. One woofer has a buzzing dustcap that is easily fixed. The tweeter fuses were blown but both EMITs work. Obviously the pots will need some Deoxit. The woofers have been competently, if not expertly refoamed.

The biggest issue is that the cabinets are cosmetically challenged. There's at lease one major gouge in the veneer that goes through to the particle board. Only one grill was present and it's not in the greatest of shape. One oak strip (the "fluting") is missing. But for the price paid I can't complain too much - even after gas and tolls it was less than the value of the drivers alone.

Now, normally I wouldn't drive from Nassau County to NJ for a piece of audio equipment unless it was the deal of a lifetime, and these weren't (I have purchased several used cars in Jersey, but we're talking a lot more money there). But I was already headed to NYC, and Hackensack's not too far once you go over the bridge or through a tunnel.

Now there's some ebay seller with two identical listings for Kappa 6.1's.
Same pictures, same description, different prices.
Just like the example in my original post.
I thought that was a no no.
Are multiple listings for the same item allowed?


Saw that a lot last year with the multi colored hijacking scammer.
Have no indication either of the pairs mentioned in this thread are scam listings but I could be missing something.
