Hobby OB project

This my first attempt at an OB design and after months of research and component shopping here is the end result.
Open baffle design consisting of two 15 inch Ricther woofers and B&C DE 25 compression driver with ME45 horn.
Crossover point is 1200Hz and built with Solen components.
My room acoustics are not great but to my ears there seems to be lots of tight low end. Mids and highs are very open sounding. 009.JPG 010.JPG 012.JPG 021.JPG Open Baffle 002.JPG Shown is the solution for making the compression driver into a dipole driver.

Nice build! How much did CD SPL drop after the modification? Clever work on the CD. Would be interesting to see the details of the modification.

Hi mashaffer, I don't know that modifying the CD behind the diaphragm would affect the SPL. Compression occurs in the front, throat side. The rear cap that holds the diaphragm in place does not seal the rear cavity and there was a little piece of foam in there to absorb rear waves. The screened inserts are resonant vents for a dobro quitar. They fit perfectly, just a hole saw and a little lathe work.
