Formally known as Chex mix. A local bar tender here, renamed it to crack mix, cause you can't stop eating it.
Well the big bowl is loaded with two, 9oz bags of chex bold and one 16 oz bag of traditional. They are splashed down with my hot sauce and whatsthishere sauce and stirred
Next on the stove I put
1 stick of butter
1/3 box of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of Cajun power garlic sauce.
1/3 cup of whatsthishere sauce, and 1/3 cup of hot sauce. Just regular hot.
Let that come to a low simmer and dump in 1.5 lbs of pecan halves and 1/2 lb whole cashews.
Stir till coated well.
Now dump on the chex and mix well.
I have a 15 x 21 sheet pan, that I line with foil and spray with garlic flavored Pam.
Now spread evenly and put in a 220° oven for almost 2 hrs. Every 30 min pull out pan and stir well. Keeps it from sticking together. After stirring 3 times, put it back in oven. Turn oven off and let cool another 20 to 30 min. After that, bag as you like.
I wound up with two 3/4 full gallon bags and two full quart bags. I will do this again around X-mas.
