hmmmm.....

Now - if i took "a certain landfill area" and re-discovered all the items burried there, it could happen i could generate a very similar looking list :)

The pictures make me dizzy. You have to buy them all?? What would anyone do with all that but "flip" it to try and make a profit?

Looks like junk to me sorry. Used cassette decks pass. I've used reel to reel for years and well cassette...... just never liked to fiddle with it. $650 is too much money. Who would waste that kind of money seriously.

well - if we suddenly can see a lot (62) of postings regarding how to fix my $10 score ...... someone took the baite :)

I'll take the SoundDesign 8 track... I need a good doorstop.

Those gravity-defying decks in the last two shots could come in handy. "Shelves? we don't no stinkin' shelves!"

Well, I'll take the Pioneer stuff, and maybe the Panasonic because I'm strange that way, but the rest would go out back to be used for sighting in the scope on my rifle...

He also has these:

If anyone wants to buy that sort of cassette deck at ten bucks each, I can supply you with about 20 immediately, and probably a 20-foot container load within a few months to a year (a few years ago, it would have been q container-load every 2-4 weeks, but most of them are gone now). (Note: this is not an ad, just a statement of fact to illustrate that this CL ad is not something that would be difficult to get/hard to assemble/rare.)

These kinds of cassette decks are being disposed of wholesale, around the world. The fact is, almost no one wants these any more. It's no longer even profitable to ship them to poorer third-world countries any more, unless they're being slipped in to fill space among larger, more profitable items. Sad, especially since some of them really don't sound bad, but it's true.

Only a tiny percentage of people prefer the hassles of cassettes to the convenience of iPods, etc..., and most of that minority only want the best decks, like TOTL Naks. All the rest have become little more than scrap metal and bits for recycling.

I wish it weren't so, as I have a bunch of studio-quality decks (good ones, but not all TOTL) taking up valuable storage space that I have to get rid of. I hate to think of handing them over for disposal/destruction/recycling, but it's hard to find anyone who really wants them, even for shop-window decor!
