Just finished re-configuring the HT setup with a Oppo BD-83 SE, Krell Showcase processor, and a Yamaha M-85 for the front, a MX-800 for the center channel (bi-amped), and a M-80 for the rear speakers. The speakers are Legacy Signature III's, Legacy Silver Screen, and Legacy Sattiltes.
The Yamaha's were all refurbished by Skip Lacey of Legandary Amps, with new binding posts, LED's, and replacement parts as required. The M-85 was extensively re-worked. The results are truly outstanding.
For less money than what one would pay for a used Krell multi channel amp, you can get a lot more power, with sound that easily is as good or better than the majority of the high end amps out there. The MX-800 REALLY improves the center channel presentation, with some of the most life like vocals I've ever heard from an audio system, regardless of price.
In summary, once refreshed, one cannot go wrong with the Yamaha M series amps.
