Hi Everyone:

I'm new here, and I'm new to finding vintage audio gear. To make the whole venture even tougher, we just relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii (which ain't so bad for non-audio purposes!).

So, I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips or leads on how to go about finding good vintage gear here. I found a pair of Polk Monitor 10s already, so that was a great start.

Welcome!I wish I had your problems.As far as finding gear goodwill and craiglist would be my first moves.Hey your half way to Japan,maybe a boat trip.:D

Yeah, not the worst problem to have in the world! :D

It's great to be here, but it's proving tough to find good gear. I figured with all the military dudes and proximity to Japan, there'd be more available. Maybe there was and people wised up faster than me.:tears:

Welcome jeremyhi. Hawaii is where I will end up someday. IIRC, Hawaii has 0.35% property tax (but fee simple ownership in many places) and 4% sales tax but I digress. Thrifts, CL, and estate sales are your best bets. Even in SoCal with wall to wall people, scores are not common so be prepared for major disappointment...most of the time.
