hook up help

I'm trying to hook up a rt 707 and a ct f1250 to a Sansui 8080db this is what I find.
When I hook up the 1250 as tape deck 1 with a pioneer sg 9500 and the rtr as # 2 using a 5 pin cable the rtr does not play though the EQ.
If I use the rca cables and go to the 1250 then it plays though the EQ
does this sound like the right way to hook it up?
if so can I use # 2 tape deck on the Sansui with a 3rd tape deck with the 5 pin cable?

I also use 2 tape decks, CT-F950 and RT-909. If you hook them up like you described, skip the 5 pin. (Why a 3rd tape deck?)

Both those decks have source,tape. I keep both in the source position, monitor Tape 1. If you want the tape 2 to go through the EQ, use the Dub, 2>1 position. There ya have it. For Tape 1 switch the dub to 1>2.

Oh, and never....NEVER have both dub switched on at the same time when both tape decks are in the source monitor mode. You WILL blow tweeters that way. Believe me....I know.

I don't see any dub 1>2 or 2>1 on the sansui ??

I got it to work had to take the Sansui out of service and put in a Yamaha cr 640

There are L +R Mains Pre and Outs on this Sansui so you can hook your Eq there,I know many don't believe you should do this but hey it works!I have a Pioneer BOTL SA-7800 Amplifier and run all these CT-F 500,Marantz SD-3000,Pioneer CT-W900 R and RT-707. My RG-1 Processor runs out of EQ and the SD-3000 in tape 1,CT-F500 with the CT-W900R in tape 2 with RCA Y Cord Splitters and R to R out of RG-I and they all work fine for me and have for quite a while...Everything including Tuner runs through the EQ and RG-1 Processor as needed or not!One thing though you can only use one or the other but not both when you have 2 Decks running with the RCA Y Cord Splitters running on either Tape 1 or Tape 2 whichever Tape you use for 2 Decks!!!Been told this would not work but I'm telling you it does.......
