Hooking Up Sub to C47

I received a C47 in the mail today. My C34V took a hit from lighting, so the insurance company sent the 47.

Anybody know if you can hook up a powered sub via low level inputs safely?

I am using a 2105 amplifier. I also have a smaller sub with high level but would prefer the sub I have with low level.

If the low level will not work, would you just run speaker wire from the 2105's output and then speaker wires to my speakers? :idea: Anything bad can happen here?

Just use the 2nd set of outputs, I think it has Main, output 1 and output 2......Easy....
 
Thanks Kev. It does indeed. Would the gain still work on the sub or is it wide open?

Oh. One last question please, can I use some regular rca's? I have a couple sub rca's but would need two Y adapters.
 
What I do is put my powered sub on the Main, then have 1&2 for my power amps/speaker combinations. This way I can have the sub with either and if I don't want the sub I turn it's power off.

Cables of your choice will be fine.

And, yes, the gain/level knob on the sub will be active. You'll have to adjust that, the low pass filter, and the phase to get the blend you want with the mains.

Thank you all for the replies and help!! I am using the unbalanced one to my power amp. There is a fixed and then an output two. What is the difference between the fixed and output 2? What output would work so I could adjust the gain on my sub. Sorry for the ignorance. Who knows how much stuff I would have blown up without AK. :)

The sub volume will be controlled by the preamp, Im assuming it's a powered sub. So when everything is on adjust the subs volume to how you like it, then the preamp will turn the volume up equally on the speakers and the sub. If a album or song need more or less bass you adjust again at the subs volume, kinda like a tone control.

Ok they have a change of wording on your preamp, (Fixed = Main) I think, meaning it's on all the time. 1&2 are controlled and selected by a switch.

I would just use 1 like you have it and run the sub off 2 and then turn the switch on for 1&2.
 
Awesome. Thanks everybody for the help!! I can't wait to get it all set up.

Had about an hour with it so far without the sub and the 47 sounds great! Better than the 34V to me. Remote is nice. Wish I had the 5 band EQ though. The insurance company didn't want the 34V back so hopefully it can be fixed.
